When the grand nation of Zarak-Zine fell to ruin at the hands of the Zariger, the surviving dwarves fled to the deep mountains. For several hundred years the shattered tribes of Dwarves fought separate, desperate battles, just to survive. The Zariger nation almost finished them off, but as the world rose up against the oppression the dwarves finally had enough of a reprieve to bring themselves time to regroup.
The dwarven nation held on for several generations, growing, building, but a co-ordinated strike of each of the Zariger houses sent them to ruin once again, only saved by a lone hero, a dwarf of such might, stubbornness and sheer will to survive he was able to wield the mighty hammer of Theik. Although the lone warrior brought the Dwarf kingdom back from destruction once again, and was named King of the Mountain, he vanished without a trace, the hammer of Thaiek left in the vault room with a prophesied return.
