Four millennia ago, a wandering awakener discovered a blighted Treekin deep within the ancient woods. A corrosive black sludge smothered its bark, a foul affliction that had already suffocated the sentient spirit within. Driven by a desperate need to heal the creature, the druid pressed his bare hand to the weeping rot. The violent shock of contact instantly plunged his mind into darkness.

Upon waking, the druid found his spirit ripped from his flesh, adrift in the endless expanse of the Astral Plane. As he struggled to comprehend his ethereal state, a flickering silhouette of pure blackness materialized, bearing a shadowy visage defined by two sharp, pointed ears. This ancient spirit offered passage back to the waking world and guided the druid's soul home. Yet, the rescue was a calculated deception. The druid was merely a mortal conduit. By bridging the realms, the shadowy entity known as Sekhemhet siphoned the awakener's raw magic and ascended to the Plane of Shadow. Claiming the sinister birthright of his forebearer, Sekhemhet transformed from a lingering phantom into a true deity of unimaginable dark power.
