Many millennia ago life was teaming on Terrainia, and where there is life there is illness, affliction and infection. Haliniar, one of the scions of dragon kind tried to cure all of these, a child of the elf mother, Elfinihiar, together they first set about ensuring that the elves were free from any malady. As Rayis and Victirus created the human race, they too wanted their creation to not become sickly or suffer infection, but the humans were not so refined as the elves. First attempts released a plague, an epidemic swept across human kind and many died.
In his desperation Haliniar got to close the infected, and somehow contracted the plague, while at first none of the fore Eldar dragons were concerned, expecting their immortal bodies to fight off the infection, but it spread, quickly. Within months Haliniar's scaled became encrusted, his belly swollen and its wings decayed, just when he thought the pain would overtake him Haliniar releases a breath of pestilence, what used to be a stream of water unleashed a new unseen plague upon mankind, but the relief it gave him twisted his mind. Millenia later, the formless energy that was once Haliniar coalesced into Varpoxis, feeding off the suffering of sickness and the prayers of those seeking relief.
The current date of the world of Terrainia is shown using the Alliance Calendar, this is because the alliance callender is the most widely used date system in the world, and even those who dont use it in their own kingdom will understand it and know how to convert to and from it.
