A technologically advanced collective, composed primarily of humans but with all manner of races from all over Terrainia. Ruled over by the Ironfather, and his governing body of engineers. The most experienced engineers will often use mechanical augmentation to prolong their limited lifespan, the degree of such modifications is an indication of both age, wealth and skill.The Ironfather also commands the largest most powerful army to ever exist within Terrainia, but Mekis as a whole is a pacifist state, they abhor violence, and the army is entirely composed of dormant constructs, mechanical warriors who if activated follow the Ironfathers commands to the letter.

City of Brass
The city of brass is so named due to the huge dome of steal and brass spanning a huge natural chasm protecting the city from the sun. The chasm was originally settled to shelter from the sun by the natural shadows it casts during the day, and over the centuries the settlement grew so large the greatest engineers came to gether to build the dome.

|Landmarks:||The Brone Dome
The bronze dome protects the city from the heat of the desert sun, and also keeps the warm during the cold nights, this mihty structure is over two thousand feet in diamiter.
It took Mekis\'s best engineers to find a way to build a solution.
Aptly named due to the obvisous fortune of coming accross a oasis in a desert, theres nothing special about this site but it is an important landmark for travel and trade.
Over the years various camps have turned from temperaroy to permentant as the settleres have found a lucrative buisness in sellign their wares while travelers are forced to stop.
In the open desert a vast two hundred space has fell into the earth, leaving a huge sinkhole thats slowly expanding and drawing hundreds of tons of sand in eah day.
An elemental gate is one the five most powerful artefacts that exsist upon the mortal plane. The sky Gate is the conduit between the plane of Fulmin and the Mortal plane, through which the electrial energy of the world flows.
The gate is so heavily charged with electrical energy the engineers of Mekis found a way to harness it to power their machines.
This nation doesnt connect with the gods of other races, but they have a deep connection with the sciences, as such they have no divine power, but have advanced medical abilites.
Trust in the sciences generates belief, belief so strong that it awakened an anceint force, a celestial spawn of Theik, god of Electricity, a important component in the workings of Machina.
Hidden amonst the Machina panthoen is the secret order devoted to the divine workings of their deity, these followers have learnt how to bind celestial essence to their machines to give the appearance of advanced devices. And this cult seeks to usurp the order and bring divinity to the nation.

If you don't know what a human is, you're in trouble.
Quick to learn and adapt, they survive in all bar the most extreme of environments with ease.
The forged are a race of sentient machines, they are built by the religious sect that worship Mechina as a god, these engineers have bound the essence of a Celestial to the machine core, giving the machine true sentience. Fortunately, celestials are good by nature and upon seeing the world for the first time in millennia they are enthralled with their newfound form.
Some of the Forged see it as their duty to protect the land they now call home, and in return their bodies are modified heavily to be battle ready, dubbed destroyers by the citizens, a name that has since stuck, they are a fearsome foe on the battlefield, capable of single-handedly eliminating entire regiments.
Distrusted by those outside of Mekis, their homeland and place of creation.
Forged have no pre-set appearance, as they are machines and as such can be built to demand.(20%)
The widley used langauge of Terrainia, although it varis a little, through dialect and acent, it remains interprettable by anyone with the most basic of understanding of it.
A language used by Forged and their creators, its common but with thousands of words for technical things within their sciences that its appears to be a foriegn language to others.

State of War
|Enemies at War:||Brold|
|Core Infantry:||Automa; Defender
The Mekis infantry are autonomous machines, set to a task and programmed to follow strict orders they will only be activated if Mekis comes under attack, or the Ironfather or Techno Savant issue specific commands.|
These machines are housed within walls, towers, buildings and other structures so they can activate anywhere on the island.
Construct Fighters on foot.
Armoured Body, Pneumatic Spear, Repeating Crossbolt (100,000)
|Core Cavalry:||Automa; Spheris
Mekis cavalry are ball shaped armoured autonomous machines, with internal gyros that propel them forward and allow them to steer.|
Like Automa Defenders these machines are stored within structures, but are propelled out at extreme speed using pistons, enabling them to reach any area quickly.
They attack using an electrical charge, which builds as the sphere moves and will discharge when close to the enemy.
Construct Fighters (Fast).
Armoured Body, Steel Spikes, Electrical Charge (2,000)
|Elite Infantry:||Iron Golems
Although the first were iron, they have since changed to more durable metals such as steel and palladium, but the name stuck, these machines are visible protectors of the realm, walking amongst the cities and roads through the desert as a never-ending watch.|
Iron Golems have a superior set of directives, they can talk, interact with each other and the citizens of Mekis, and will come to the aid of those calling for help.
Large Fighters on foot.
Heavy Armour, Pneumatic Spear, Pneumatic Fist. (2,000)
|Warmachines:||Automa; Spheris, Incendiary
These Automa are built using the regular Spheris pattern, but are filled with an explosive inner core, and are not launched at high speed, otherwise the core will explode.|
These gather pace slowly as they move towards an enemy, and as they make contact they explode with devastating force, as such these are only activated when the need is great, and all other options have been considered.
Construct Fighters (Fast).
Armoured Body, Explosive Detonation (500)
|Unique Unit:||Forged Destroyers
These are the only sentient machines used to protect Mekis, awakened machines which gained sentience.|
Forged are built by the religious sect that worship Machina as a god, these engineers have bound the essence of a Celestial to the machine core, giving the machine true sentience. |Roaming Beasts (The Undead)
Uncontrolled dark energy can spontaniously revive a recently dead corspre, which will wander aimlessly looking for sustinance.
These undead creatures can often gather together and the dark energy will guide them to attack nearby settlements. , Roaming Beasts (Sandworms) Left over experiments from the Age of Succession, these giant worms only inhabit extremly hot and sandy enviroments, but within these enviroments the sandworms can move with impunity, crushing homes and devouring inhabitants..
These creatures are the primary reason no large cities have been constructed on the desserts of Terrainia. ,
Roaming Animals (Wild Dogs) Adapeted to survive the desert conditions, wild dogs are pack hunting carnivous animal that likes nothing more than a lone target.
During the fall of the Duergar Empire he barbarian tribes were left to fend for themselves, the land quickly devoolved into a hundred small tribes.
The tribes fought each other continually for the megre resources the land still held.
A series of unfortunate events sees a single elf wash up on shore, Gwanhail Hoardrin is forced to take refuge inland.
The first tribe she encounters, the Talaks takes her in, but she soon proves to be an asset to them.
She shows them new ways to hunt, build better shelters, retrive cleaner water and within months thier health and pyshical state improves.
During the last few years Gwanhail fulfils the role of hunter, warrior and healer.
A surprise attack from a riavl tribe leaves hers without chief or sage, Gwanhail quickly fulfils both which saves the tribe.
With Gwanhail as thier chiftain the tribe make leaps forward in thier society, quickly taking in three other tribes nearby and forming a much larger tribe, rendering them safe from smaller raids.
She is carefull to allow each tribe to retain thier cheiftans, while becoming the High Chieftain that the swroe alliance too.
Gwanhail's tribe now numbers in its thousands, organised defences and training provides the first peace experianced for thousands of years.
Schools set up to teach the next generations, and temples built for the tribes-people god of the sun, Rayis.
With third generation humans now reaching the age of maturity, Ghanhail seeds the foundation of a hierarchial system to manage the growing area.
Half of the land of Talax is now either allied or part of Gwanhails tribe. But this emagimation runs into probelms when a tribe who holds dominion over much fo the remaining tribes-people openly declar war on Gwanhail.
The war claims the lives of hundreds but is short lived, the stratgeical knowledge and miltry teachings of the ancient elf are no match for trible brute force.
The enemy chieftan is soon killed and their obviously inferior skills leads the other tribes to surrender shortly afer and accept Gwanhail as thier rightful leader.
The Talak tribe now stretches from the southern shores to the edge of the northern deserts.
In such a short time it was hard to accomplish great things, but Gwanhail laid the foundation for so much, education, art, mineing, weaponcraft, farming and arcitecture.
To mark the centinery of Gwanhail's coming, the people held a grand celebration, with a series of signal fires marking the path she took on her quest to unite the realm.
Gwanhail feels the effect of ageing, her elven lifeforce was dwindling and there was only so much time left, for a elf this was an unknown sensation.
She knew of such things, for elves were only immortal while they remined on Dasima. But she also knew that another century or two was still easyily within her.
Knowing time was limited she set about making plans to return home, first she needed to build boats.
The frst boats were launched, enabling tribes-people to fish further and land bigger catches, an inadvertant side effect of her quest to return home.
This latest creation quickly spread through her land, and soon hundred of fishing boats were being built.
But Gwanhail needed a bigger vessel, and soon has a dozen of the best carpenters working onher project.
Her boat is finsihed, a simple one man vessel she is sure it can tae her home, but after four years word spread she was planning to leave.
The people banded togther to present her with an offer she couldnt refuse, Gwanhail was called south to the biggest of her towns, when she arrived it was filled with thousands of her people all chanting her name.
Her carrige was led through the main streets into the market area, where a group of poeple all stood waiting, everyone of the fifty chieftains that had allied with herself.
As she disembarked and approched they all dropped to one knee bar one, the most respected allied chief approched her carrying a golden crown, inset with a single jewel from each tribe, as he knelt down in front of Gwanhail he liften it up as an offering and uttered three immortal words "be our Queen"
The biggest celebration anyone had seen marked the coronation of the lands first queen.
She declared the land, now her queendom, would from that point on be known as Talax, and all her chieftans would be the Lords of Talax.
Just a few years after unification Talax comes under fresh attack. Out from the deserts marched a heavily armoured army intent on destroying what Gwanhail had created.
The army sacked the cloest settlement and slaughtered its inhabitants, before word could reach its Queen the northern most region was lost.
A bitter 24 months left both armies sevearly depleated, but a final battle was looming, the warlord behind the invaision faced off accross the field from Gwanhail herself.
The battle was in her favour, but the Warlord had brought more than soldiers, a cohort of robed figures stepped forward and brought thier magic to bear. At the last moment Gwanhail stepped forward had unleashed her own latent elven power, sheilding her army from the dark wave of energy.
When the light shone once more after the darkness was dispelled a new glorious Queen was present, glad in golden armour covered in symbols of Rayis, her crown replendant on her head, her army were in awe and the enemy were shaken.
Gwanhail charged the enemy warlord, faster than any horse, and the encounter was over just as quick, his head seperated from his shoulders in a single strike. The remaining enemy immediatly fled into the desert
Gwanhail developes a romantic attachemnt to a human male, and realising her mortal life was nearing its end, she ensures she bare a child, probably the first Half-Elf ever.
Citizens from all accross Talax journey to see the child, named NAME HIDDEN an amalgamation of Gwanhails fathers name and that of his father.
Her child grows into a fine man, and a superb warrior but Gwanhail takes great care to raise him as a just and fair leader, wise and honest to one day become King.
He is given the title steward of the North to give him experiance of command, his men grow to respect and love thier furture King and from a early stage signs of a true King are eveident.
Twenty five years of stewardship proves NAME HIDDEN a sucesfful leader of men, the queen rewards him with a specail quest, one that will mark him out and prove to thier citizens hes worthy of leading them.
Gwanhail publicaly awards this task to her son so the populus can bare witness, the quest; to enter the deserts and locate the source of the continual atttacks.
With the prince's return past due the queen, and nation, begin to worry, a sigal is formed at the westen border, drawing so many followers that a settlement begins to form.
Three years after the original date for retun the prince staggers out from the desert alone, no army in sight, armour in rusted tatters.
The first to notice his retun were the watchers on the Tower of NAME, the Everwatch Guard, their role completed.
It took several days for the prince to be fit enough to recount his adventure, but soon he told of a inpassible desert, home to impossible creatures, most notablely a colossal Sandworm which torn through his ranks and left him injured, only his elven heritage allowed him to endure the slow walk back.
This monmental test of endurance captured the heart of his people, rumor quickly spread that he was blessed by Rayis and soon these stories became legend.
On the centenry of his sons birth the Queen hands over the crown and takes a postion of advisor to the realm, in truth her time is nearly up and she wishes to return home one last time.
Within a few months she has a sea faring vessel capable of taking her back, she bids farwell to her son in a secret cemermony, and pormises to return within a few years.
The heavy armoured warriors from accross the desert arrive in unprecedented numbers,
