The Evil dwarf race known as the Duergar Control the vast majority of the world. Their advanced weaponry makes it easy to dominate and enslave the human race.
An unknown distraction in the Duergar people caused a gradual decline in fresh supplies and new troops, rumor amongst the slaves spoke of power struggle at the top. Noticing an opportunity a single slave rose up against his oppressors and led a revolt, freeing hundreds of slaves.
Over the next two years the slave rebellion withered down the Duergar until only the Zar was left, the rebellion leader, Alantir strikes him down in single combat and proclaims the land free once more
With the slaves now free they turned to Alantir for leadership, and he led them into a new age.
Soon the hero and leader is proclaimed King, taking the name Alantir he laws down the laws and code of conduct expected of everyone including himself.
The new king also forms a Ruling Council to guide him and give the people a voice.
The Imperial Calendar is created, giving Alantor its first accurate measure of time.
Alantir dies, passing the Kingship to his first born, as decreed in his laws.
His son begins his reign by establishing the right for every man and woman to vote on the Council membership every five years.
The King, Brodin, signs a peace treaty with the nearby nation of Talaxion, new trade routes spur on both nations to grow and enter a more prosperous era.
King Galorin dies unexpectedly and leaves no heir, the Council are divided on the right heir.
This indecision leads to a collapse of current council and an almost entirely new one is voted in, their first decree is to announced the formation of the Governorship, a new non monarchy leader to rule in place of a king.
The kings personal guard, the knights of Alntir voice their opposition, they belive a heir to the throne is out in the wider world and begin a quest to find one.
Two years after the appointment of Yiritn as the first Governor, he declares himself to be the new chancellor, and that from this day rule would be given by the council, with voting to take place every 5 years.
The 979 elections become corrupt, a Chancellor is elected whho is more tyrant than king, he uses bribery and blackmail to remain Chancellor for two terms.
This method of control continues for many years, several candidates that the people support mysterous vanish or perish in accidents.
The knight of Alantir return with the true heir, but it is too late, the Chanceelor orders him killed and the templars are forced to flee, with the heir undet thier protection.
A seer by the name of Alunion phophised that the true king will return, but he was silenced and never seen again.
A failed rebellion sowed discord amonst the people, althouh a new chancellor is ellected by the council, this was ruse to make the people belive things had changed.
Chancellor Vidian rules with an iron fist, the poeple dare not speak out and hundreds go missing with no investigation launched.
After 200 hundred years of depression Alantor begins a recovery, the people become less afraid and the ecconmy grows.
A pluge spreads accross Alantor, trade grinds to a halt as other nations turn them away, thousands die, the chancellor orders his healers to find a cure.
The cure is found, but unknown at the time the cure holds a dark secret.
Four generations after the plague the true means fo the cure is revealed, a demon woshiping cult activates thier plan, a full half of the fourth generation die in a horrific way, their bodies litterally turn inside out, the demon cult is able to summon Takka-Kor, a demon from the void.
The cult is instanlty wiped out, false promises never honured. The demon cuts a bloody swath through Alantor, only stopped with the sacrifice of an entire cavalry battlaion and two heroic sisters of the church.
The two sisters, Salithria and Selenia are lured into a trap, the body of Selenia is recovered, Salithria's is not.
The Chancellor, Padactris, is vistied by radiant spirit from another plane, who foretells of the kings retun, although he tells no-one he fears for his postion and the power it gives him, he seeks help from a witch deep in the forest who offers him a deal.
Padactris issues a decre that prohibits anyone from entering the deep forest, a perimiter fence is built and watch towers stationed at regualar distances.
Without warning or seamingly any reason the Chancellor Padactris orders the whole army to mobilse. He issues strategic orders that go against many of the more veteran generals, but they follow them as instructed.
The army is attacked by unknown assailants, whole regiments lost without a clue, the Chancellor pushes forward.
Ralor; a disgruntled solider in the Chancellors army, manages to escape the initial onslaught, he recives a vision from the God Victirus and flees south to the city of Mekis.
With the city in ruins he is forced to leave aboard the ship, The Revenant, and begins what he recalls as 'The Trial of Heroes'.
Ralor returns, a single soldier of now formidable strength, he single-handedly frees the city, and rallies all survivors to his cause.
Over the course of six months Ralor leads Alantor to victory, his sheer might wins over the nation and they proclaim him their saviour.
With no chancellor left, he immediately re-enacts the rights of the Monarchy, none question his claim to the Throne.
Ralor sends word to Karla Reager of Talax, and learns her battle against the tyrant Arkarzan has ended.
With both nations in a time of recovery, aid is passed back and forth, with Talax East providing much needed supplies.
The two nations form a true bond and they work together on a new treaty and the formation of a new Grand Alliance.
Ralor reforms of the Council, reinstating the right to vote, the right of free passage and lineage of the Monarchy is re-founded.
The Grand Alliance Treaty is signed by both King Ralor and Lord Reager (Queen of Talax).
A new Alliance Calendar is started, to set the events before into history and mark the beginning of the new age.
The two nations for a true bond and the nations work of the formation of new treaty and grand alliance.
Alantor's rebuilding is complete, with all remaining citizens re-homed and the army restructured, Ralor turns his attention to building something new.
In a matter of months he founds the Alantor School of Magic, in a abandoned castle high in the mountains, and decrees all Alantor born spellcasters are to be entitled to study within the safety of its walls.
Simultaneously he forms the Knights of Alantir, pulled from the bravest and strongest of the army, trained to fight on horse back to provide a quick response should any new threats surface.
The School of Magic proves its worth quickly, a high magister is appointed as head of the school. The most skilled students offer there service to the King when ever needed to defend the realm.
A raiding army of Orcs land on the eastern beaches, the first test of the defences Ralor had put in place.
Although a village is sacked, the Orcs make it no further, the Alantir Knights, and a cohort of mages repel the invaders with ease.
Deep under the School of Magic the magister finds the Gem'Draconis, a powerful magical artefact which empowers the spellcaster who holds it, the magister present his find to Ralor, who in turn has it set into a staff and appoints it as the badge of office for the Magister.
The third generation of citizens since Ralor saved them begin to question their King's lack of age, while they have grown up, watched there grandparent pass away and come of age, King Ralor has remained the same.
Rumours spread like wildfire, first 'Vampire', but this is quickly disproven with his multiple daylight activities, then 'demon', which takes a little more disproving.
At midnight on the night of the longest day, Ralor walks out of his palace and into the city square, bearing the sword he returned to Alantor with and wearing just his breeches. Ralor held the sword aloft and spoke the ancient words of his deity, a divine light penetrated the darkness and shone upon Ralor, the citizens who gathered to watch were in awe, the godly light breathed new light into their hearts and they dropped to their knees.
The first Temple of Victirus is completed, soon dozens more are built, the general population begin to worship their Kings deity, now believing him to be sent by the gods.
Ralor reveals himself to be the First Paladin of Victirus, and urges those devout of mind and strong of body to follow his path.
To mark the 100th Anniversary of his reign Ralor has the entire army outfitted with newly designed armour, decorated in the colours of Victirus.
During the winter of the Great Freeze, the Southland and Alantor became connected via an ice bridge, This opened up chance for the hostile forces from the polar region to attack, on masse.
The invaders destroyed the nearby city of Palidine, but the combined efforts of Ralor and his Knights forced them back, and although never defeated in the truest sense, the bridge collapsed as the winter ended and the threat was over.
After hundreds of years of unhindered trade, suddenly the ships of both Talax and Alantor begin to go missing, eventually a survivor recalls the appearance of enemy warships, Pirates.
These pirates turn out to be Goblins, and although there fleet is just a handful of ships Ralor orders the building of the first 'Warship', within a few months ten of the mighty vessels are completed and begin to patrol the water.
The Grand Alliance accepts two new members, Razell and Thraw, having been assaulted by the pirates they join for protection and Karla Reager of Talax decides to build a mighty fleet of ships.
The Grand Alliance expands further, with the island of Po joining, and the Nation of Ultwe, led by another immortal finally accepting the alliance.
A Paladin of Alantor, Hedix, suddenly vanishes, only to return a week later with an army of demons behind him, the battle is brutal but Ralor slays the usurper himself.
This prompts Ralor to create a company of demon hunters called Templars, they search and destroy any items, or locations the demons are connected to or have influenced.
Ralor weds Salenia a high ranking member of the Templars.
Salenia and her sister Salithria are two of the best demon hunters the company have seen, there devotion to Victirus shields them from the demonic threat
his bride soon gives him a son, but shortly afterwards returns to the battlefield
In a large battle around a corrupted temple of Victirus Salenia and Salithria are fighting the demon horde.
When the temple doors are breached only Salithria and a dozen men make it inside, Salenia has to break down the door to gain entry minutes later.
When she enters she finds everyone dead, except her sister, who now bears an unknown blade, Salithria immediately attacks her sister, the two fight but Salithria is empowered and slays her sister
When Ralor arrives Salithria has gone, but he discovers his beloveds body, overcome with remorse he weeps for her and offers prayer to Victirus, who through his divine power awakens Salenia, but as an angel
Ralor's son, Karor, is anointed as Commander of the Knights of Alantir, he has become the mightiest warrior bar Ralor, all suspect he shares his fathers powers, but Ralor himself knows its just a fraction of the power he earned, but his son would be a valuable ally for the coming centuries.
The current Magister, Lortheris, goes mad and tries to seize power, after enveloping the School of Magic in bubble of energy he confronts the King head on, believing his magic enough.
The onslaught of magical energy thrown at Ralor lays waste to his palace, but he emerges from the rubble, sword in hand but badly wounded, Salenia reappears and heals him completely, and recharges his blade with a new energy, and the pair of them defeat the magister.
Salenia becomes the emissary of Victirus, but only appears in times of great need.
Ralor reveals a new child to his people, although its never publicly announced, this is the second child of Ralor and Salenia, as such his daughter, Lenia, is an assumer, part angel part human.
Lenia comes of age, and shows clear angelic heritage, her prowess with a blade matches her mothers, and she takes her place by her fathers side.
An unusual set of events in Talax leads to a new member of the Alliance, Paduku, a collective of Vanarans, Wild Elves, Ibixian, Lizardfolk, Catfolk, Raptorians and Drow refuges (Exiled from the Drow race).
This society keeps itself to itself, expect when called on to defend the Alliance, in turn Talax and Alantor do the same.
The first lycanthrope in two thousand years is discovered, the immediate panic is dispelled by Ralor and his swift intervention, he leads his men into the deep forest.
He encounters the lycanthrope in a small clearing, the human girl is praying to Mathandria, Ralor orders his men to stay in the trees and he approaches alone, within minutes he agrees to keep the lycanthrope safe, along with the rest of her kind.
The were-bears prove to be a ferocious but good people, numbering less than a hundred they sign a treaty to stay out of the Alantor cities, and the humans out of the deep forest.
Ralor fears the werewolf threat is returning.
Nearly two hundred years pass without lycan activity, until a entire village of people vanishes.
Although no evidence of lycan involvement, the Werebears warn the other lycans are gathering their numbers.
A mighty fleet of corsairs, both Drow and Human breach the other defences and land upon the northern shores.
First their intent seams to focus on salves, but after several encounters it appears the Drow are looking for something.
The invasion force drives forward to the School of Magic, the defences prove no match for such an onslaught, and the school is taken.
The Drow fortify their position and allow the Alantor forces to set up a siege, the humans fall back to their ships and leave with their slaves.
After two years of relentless siege, the Drow find what they came from, and leave as suddenly as they came, but with their numbers much lower they create a massive explosion and destroy the school, using the chaos to escape unnoticed.
Only after months of searching through the rubble does the magister discover what was taken, what they called the Nightshade Jewel.
The School of Magic is rebuilt, this time using inlaid magical enchantments, including a labythine network of magical vaults.
Ralor opens the school to all residents of the Grand Alliance, partly to replenish the numbers, partly to reinforce the magic strength of the alliance.
An old wise man has a vision of the future and proclaims a great catastrophe is imminent.
Ralor orders the Templars to investigate, the prophecy is said to be the beginning of the end, panic is kept to a minimum and all manner of insurances are put in place
On the 3000th eve of Ralor’s victory over the leader of the lycans a terrible earthquake rocks Alantor, later its discovered the whole of Terrainia is affected.
Thousands of wolves strike out from the forest and ravage the towns and villages, Ralor proclaims a state of emergency.
With dusk curfews in place the attacks drop dramatically, but the werewolf lord Morphian makes his presence know to the whole kingdom.
Salenia forewarns Ralor the the Demon Queen Salithria has sensed the vulnerability of Alantor and is moving her forces to strike.
Ralor learns that Talax is under attack from the once defeated Arkarzan, he decides that these events are linked.
Ralor and Karla form a special company of elite fighters, mages and clerics, tasked with investigating the connections and taking appropriate action.
