The Entity

Eons ago there existed just a single being, born at the very moment of creation, during the moment of ignition, the great spark, the big bang; although this being was without any discernible form it possessed truly unimaginable power, and as this consciousness became self-aware it began to act.

Referred to by scholars as 'The Entity', this being shaped the forces of the universe as it wanted; the energies of the material plane were wild and unpredictable, so the Entity bound them behind planar boundries, creating what we now call the Elemental Planes of Fire, Air, Water, Earth and Electricity.

The elemental planes were at this stage, pockets of pure energy, contained within the barriers the Entity had constructed, each was about the same size and contained a singular planetoid of considerable size which acted as an focus for the planes energy.

The material plane however was forever expandng and was filled with remnants of the atomic reaction that triggered the big bang, huge rocks of compacted minerals and giant balls of burning gas now floated aimlessly around, still moving from the act of force applied during the moment of creation.

What probably took tens of billions of years may have seemed insignificant to such a powerful being, but as it continued its work, life with the elemental realms emerged.  These life forms were born from the very energy of the plane, tiny elementals that were unaware of the Entity’s existence.

The Void

Further eons passed by, the Entity watched as the elemental creatures evolved, and began to harness the power of their realm, yet they were still nothing compared to the entity. But for the first time it stopped, it was at last content with its surroundings.

Then without warning a powerful force tore a tremendous rift on the material plane, it was so dark that no light could escape its mass, and it quickly began to exert its power on the multiverse as it pulled everything inwards.  Great whirlpools of energy were formed as the rift penetrated the barriers protecting the elemental realms and began to siphon off their elemental energy.

Millions of rocks within the material plane soon hurtled towards its dark abyss, although the material plane was truly massive beyond measure, it would not endure, and the Entity was forced to act.  Infinite in its knowledge of the multiverse, the Entity drew upon its colossal might and enveloped the darkness in an aura of pure force, not unlike the planar barriers.

At first this kept the effect contained, but the pull was too great and the Entity needed to reinforce the enclosure before it would collapse.  So, it stretched forth its telekinetic mind and grasped thousands of the huge bodies of rock within the material plane and compressed them together around the void to form a massive ball of rock, then the Entity used the whirling energy escaping from the elemental planes to bind the planetoid.

This planet now encompassed the void, the combined elemental energies plus that of the Entity sealed the void within the planets core.  With the threat contained the Entity rebuilt the planar walls, with each of them bound to the planet, and the material plane binding everything. This time the entiy pushed each plane out of phase with the material, in effort to protect them from future dangers.

The aura around the void became a plane unto itself, Polomis. But the voids attack had left the multiverse wounded, the entity separated these fractures into more planar realms, unsure of what else to do, each planes nature was determined by the damage it repaired.

This massive exertion of will left the Entity weakened, still omnipotent, but with a need for rejuvenation.

The Entity rested for an age, only barely aware of the evolution of the planet it had created.  The pull of the void had drawn in giant balls of burning gas which now orbited the planet, along with several other bodies of rock.  The planet had also began spinning on its axis; the resulting gravity had allowed escaping energies from the elemental planes to settle upon it.

These energies had created oceans, forests, volcanos, wind and atmosphere, all heated by the orbiting star.  And for the first time on the material plane tiny specks of life had spawned, Terrainia was born.

Frahuden

When its energy returned, the Entity reached out once more, this time to shape life itself, at first it was just animals and plants, but it soon wanted more.   With considerable effort, it created an egg, from which hatched Frahuden, a beautiful shining dragon with scales that shimmered with a multi-coloured metallic finish.

As the sentient creature matured the Entity explained its connection to the elemental energies and that in time it would be able to harness those energies, and that Frahuden was now the guardian of Terrainia and all life within it.

Saiyiden

Thousands of years passed, Frahuden began to long for a companion with which to share the world, and the duties he was entrusted with.  The Entity unreservedly agreed and soon created a second egg, this new egg hatched another beautiful multi coloured metallic dragon, Frahuden felt an instant bond with the hatchling.

Saiyiden grew quickly, and soon matched Frahuden in size and the pair spent every moment together.  Although they looked so similar Saiyiden was thousands of years behind in wisdom and understanding, it was this naivety that spawned her curiosity. It was this inquisitiveness that led Saiyiden down a dark path, she understood so little about the pure energy that the void controlled and wanted answers.

Saiyidens Fall

A chance encounter with a subterranean tunnel, and a moment of weakness, led Saiyiden to deep into the planets core, where she soon stood staring across an impossible chasm and into the void.  Although Saiyiden thought herself beyond reach, her aura, her soul was not, the abyss subtly corrupted the majestic dragon and ignited a darkness within.

For years Frahuden and the Entity were unaware of what had transpired, Saiyiden became very good at concealing her studies of the inhabitants of Terrainia.  It was only when Saiyiden’s scales began to lose their lustre that Frahuden noticed, and immediately called to the Entity for aid, the situation left Saiyiden little choice than to confess where she had once been.

The Entity was furious that Saiyiden had gone where she was forbidden, but also dismayed at her progeny’s suffering.  Despite its considerable power the Entity was unable to stop the blackening, and within a short time Saiyiden shimmering scales were as lightless as the void.

The Entity could not foresee what consequence this would have, he retreated from the world to contemplate what it all meant and to gain an understanding of its purpose.  It was in this moment that Saiyiden felt fear for the first time, she began to believe that the Entity would end her existence upon its return, and so she decided to act.

The Betrayal

Saiyiden approached the void for a second time, this time dark thoughts already clouded her troubled mind, Saiyiden believed she was communing with the void itself, and that her only chance for survival was to deliver the Entity to the fate she assumed her own.

With the aid of the void she stretched her mind and drew the entities attention, with an elegant deception Saiyiden fooled the Entity into thinking she was in danger.

As her creator arrived to lend aid she allowed the void to use her body as a lens, though which it focused its energy and ensnared the Entity.

This was not enough however, the void lacked the power to corrupt the Entity, but with Saiyiden’s aid the Entity’s mind was broken and its essence scattered, the formless energy sent spiralling to the far reaches of the multiverse.

Both Saiyiden and Frahuden felt the immediate loss of the great power, a vacuum within themselves, unable to connect with its mind the pair realised they were cut off, unsheltered, permanently.

During this moment Saiyiden, having the realisation of what she had truly done, fled the planets core, and returned to the worlds surface.  Within moments Frahuden had arrived and demanded to know what had transpired, but Saiyiden claimed to know nothing.

The Age of Awakening was over, now dawned the Age of Dragons.
